SHARK factoid - she was in commission circa 1936-1942.
USS SHARK (SS-174) was the fourth United States submarine lost in the Second World War. SHARK was probably unable to evade an enemy depth charge attack, most likely east of Menado on the northern Celebes on 11FEB42. All hands - 58 valiant submariners were lost that day. She'll be making no more homeport calls, having been on her Eternal Patrol now for 63+ years. Toll the Bell..........
