COB (LINKS) IS THE NEXT GENERATION IN SUBLINKS FOR THE HARDCORE SUB "SITE SEE-ER" AMONG US - you can tell by the number of links below (10,000+).......updated and expanded often. Categorized and commented, COB (LINKS) is above all a comprehensive compilation of U. S. Navy Submarine and related links to official Navy, statistical/photo and personal web sites. You'll see links to every submarine that the U.S. Navy ever commissioned - and more! Secondarily, COB (LINKS) is a Submarine News site; if I ever neglect the sub news, its because I'm out gathering sub links. I trust that you'll understand! Scroll down to the "U.S. Submarine News of the Day" link for your current edification! :^0

CRUISE AKASKA !!HURRY!!
Bubbleheads, squids, skimmers, lubbers alike, welcome to this patrol along with COB (LINKS)! This page contains current boat news and topics, newly found boat web sites and links to a featured U.S. submarine (shown in thumbnails and text links below); archived sublinks are in "THE SUBLINKS VAULT" link below or the Navigation Bar directly to your left.IT HAS OCURRED TO ME TO REMIND YOU TO USE A MEANINGFUL SUBJECT WHEN YOU EMAIL ME. JUST LIKE YOU, I GET A LOT OF UNSOLICITED MAIL THAT GETS DELETED QUICKLY, ESPECIALLY IF IT DOESN'T SEND UP FLAGS IMMEDIATELY. I'D HATE FOR ONE OF THE DELETED ONES TO BE YOURS, ESPECIALLY IF I DON'T KNOW YOU YET! USE WORDS LIKE COB (LINKS), SUBLINKS ANYTHING TO GET MY ATTENTION. HAVEN'T DELETED ONE YET (THAT I'M AWARE OF) BUT HAVE HAD THE CURSOR RIGHT OVER ONE OR TWO WHEN I DECIDED TO CHANCE A LOOK. WHEW, PRETTY CLOSE! If you have a good link or three that I've missed please inform me and I'll gladly bring this watch station up to speed -- I'll even give you the credit if you tell me how you want to see it. YOUR FEEDBACK is important to the continued exististence of this site! I can't improve or correct it very well without a little help! Link verification isn't as easy as you might think. Xenu Link Sleuth is about the best thing out there but I've found that there's no substitute for physical verification. So if you find something amiss, please let me know! I GLADLY TRADE LINKS WITH SUBSITE AND RELATED WEBMASTERS, CONTACT ME AT THE EMAIL ADDRESS ABOVE!Links that were previously showcased here usually have gone out of favor and have been moved to "THE SUBLINKS VAULT" under their pertinent category(s). Look for the "COB (LINKS) GOLD "URL-MAN MATE" RATING PATCH" graphic. Enjoy, I hope!!
POST A GUESTBOOK "FAMILYGRAM" HERE.....OLD SEA DADDIES/ BARREL MATES MAY LURK ABOUT. BUT WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE, PUKE, OR I'LL BE FORCED TO SEND YOU TO CAPTAIN'S MAST!

BE AWARE THAT BECAUSE OF MILITARY SITUATIONS THAT MANIFEST THEMSELVES FROM TIME TO TIME IN THIS 21st CENTURY ENVIRONMENT, ANY OF THE OFFICIAL U.S. GOVERNMENT WEB SITES MAY BE BLOCKED FROM VIEW. PLAY BY THE RULES BOYS AND GIRLS AND THEN THEY WILL BE RETURNED FOR US TO ENJOY WHEN THINGS SETTLE DOWN A BIT. STICKY WICKET, WHAT?
-- repository for all valuable old sub links. Find all archived URLs here. I guarantee that you'll find at least a couple of links to something about your favorite "old girl" (no guarantee that they're not ones you've seen already). I apologize for the number of screens/clicks to get where you need to go but they've gotta be categorized some kinda way! All the old standby URLs are in here in addition to new sublinks as they are retired from the New Boat Web Sites page. The links to individual boats are categorized by hull number with all links to a boat in one convenient place. The other major categories of sublinks are fairly straightforward, I think. A black silhouette placed by the title of any boat is a reminder of perpetual mourning to all submariners and indicates that she was lost during an American armed conflict.
10,000+ external links and growing! Xenu's Link Sleuth last verified hotlinks on 11AUG06.
Please report dead links here
PLEASE REMEMBER TO MENTION COB (LINKS) AND/OR COBLINKS[AT]THESUBREPORT.COM WHEN YOU SHOP AT MY ADVERTISERS. YES, THERE'S A MUCH NEEDED COMMISSION INVOLVED. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR REMEMBERING.
I'M WORKING ON A SHORT BIOGRAPHY THAT WILL EXPLAIN WHY YOUR HELP IS IMPORTANT. PLEASE BE PATIENT.
OK, MORE LIKE NEWLY FOUND WEBSITES. SINCE SOME OF THESE MAY NOT BE SO NEW TO YOU, WE'LL FEATURE THEM FOR A SHORT TIME, THEN POLITELY MOVE THEM TO "THE SUBLINK VAULT".
General Submarine News From the World - ordered by date where possible
YES, BOATS OF OTHER NATIONS REALLY ARE MAKING HEADLINES AND THE TIME SEEMS TO BE GONE IN WHICH THOSE WERE NEARLY ALWAYS DISASTERS!! MAKE NO MISTAKE, THERE'S PLENTY OF THAT BUT THE FRENCH SEEM TO BE MAKING GREAT PROGRESS WITH A STEALTHY DIESEL BOAT (OF ALL THINGS!), FOR EXAMPLE.
PROBLEM? THEY SEEM TO LACK SCRUPLES ABOUT WHO THEY SELL THE TECHNOLOGY AND/OR FINISHED PRODUCT TO.

EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS WE'LL TRY TO SHOWCASE THE SUBLINKS OF A DIFFERENT BOAT. THE MONTHS OF FEBRUARY/MARCH WILL FEATURE USS NAUTILUS (SSN-571) IN HONOR OF THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF COMMANDER DENNIS WILKINSON'S HISTORIC MESSAGE "UNDERWAY ON NUCLEAR POWER" ON JANUARY 17, 1955 WHICH SIGNALLED A NEW ERA IN BOTH SUBMARINE WARFARE AND MARITIME PROPULSION.

YOU SHOULD BE AWARE THAT JUST AS IN OTHER "LIFE THINGS", WEB SITES DO MOVE AROUND AND OCCASSIONALLY WEB SERVERS HAVE TECHNICAL PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE TIMES. I THINK THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE SOME MEANS OF FAIRLY ALLOWING A SERVER/SITE TO "GET IT TOGETHER" BEFORE SAYING "WE'RE OUTTA HERE". SOOOOOO......I PROPOSE THAT WE INSTITUTE A FOUR STRIKES - YOUR OUT POLICY. IF THE URL IS GONE WITH NO FORWARDING ADDRESS IT WILL BE ASSIGNED A "!!@#$%!! - NOBODY HOME" GRAPHIC AND REMOVED IN A SHORT PERIOD UNLESS IT MAGICALLY REAPPEARS. EACH TIME THAT YOU OR I FIND A URL THAT PRESENTS SOMETHING OTHER THAN WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR I WILL ATTACH A "FROWNY" GRAPHIC TO IT AND FOLLOW UP WITH WEEKLY (AT LEAST) ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT IT. WHEN THE TIME HAS COME TO PLACE THE FOURTH GRAPHIC, I WILL INSTEAD LEAVE THE TEXT BUT REMOVE THE HYPERLINK (THAT WAY YOU CAN STILL KNOW WHAT THE URL WAS IN CASE YOU KNOW MORE ABOUT IT THAN ME AND NEED TO PASTE IT INTO YOUR BROWSER. JUST REMEMBER THAT "NOBODY HOMEs" INDICATE THAT I KNOW ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS URL AND YOU SHOULD EXPECT THEM IF YOU ATTEMPT TO VISIT THAT SITE. FAIR ENOUGH?
